With these ideas of normality, we can see our journey through the generations influences what we aspire to. Who wants to write a book when we can aspire to be a video content creator? Who wants to learn to play an instrument when we can collaborate with an AI rockstar? We have arrived at normal, blindsided by the now.

• Challenge the “Yes, But…”: Demand data from comparable scenarios, historical precedents, and alternative architectures. Ask how systems could function differently if participation were genuinely voluntary rather than coerced through compliance and surveillance.

• Think for yourself: Use the AI as a sparring partner to stress-test these ideas, strip away the euphemisms of the administrative state and arrive at your own reasoned conclusions.
